Keith John Moon (August 23, 1946 – September 7, 1978) was the drummer of the rock group The Who. As a drummer, Moon became known for an innovative style of drumming. Moon was one of the first players to play the drums as a lead instrument in an era when drums were supposed to only keep the backbeat. Moon also gained notoriety for his destructive lifestyle.
